Collection of visual notes on the use of nodes to achieve certain looks. This is mostly to remind myself of some node combinations that are helpful in material creation.


Edge Stepping

Bevel > Warp > Slop Blur
Adding in a noise that is warped around the main shape to give the stepping look, which is then fed into the Slope Blur.


Rounded Off Shapes

Blur > Bevel > Slope Blur


Quick Cracks

Tile Sampler > Normal > Curvature > Hist. Scan > AO


Layered Flood Fill

Flood Fill > 2X Fill to Gradient > Blend (Min Dark)



Wet Noise/Mask




Overlay Dynamic Gradient





  Wood Grain Knot
